Shadow and Light

We are in a time of transition, change and desperate need to listen to Mother Earth; to protect and care for Her, as she has cared for us for millennia.

Weaving threads through the forest, the year and the seasons, where the artworks represent states of being, movement, emotions and the passage of time.

Always with appreciation, affection and amazement for the beauty of what is all around us - in nature, and in every one of us.

Accepting that we need darkness to see the light.

Fly is a pale image created from layers of horizontal lines and vertical drips in shades of pale green, yellow and pink, with hints of gold. Oil on canvas, 100 x 100 cm.

I See is a painting over a painting, heavily textured and containing horizontal lines of orange, blues, greys, over which, from the top, is a thick line of indigo, spreading down vertically, as broken grids appear across the top two thirds of the paintings. Acrylic on canvas, 42 x 160cm.

Breathe is a square painting with a dark blue background, upon which is circle of pale blue with small buff islands floating within it. The circle is divided into three. In the bottom third, fiery red swirls reach upwards; in the right hand third, dark and light blue spirals rise like a wave, and in the left-hand third is a circle - a green and yellow planet. Nocturne is a 4-panel screen painted pink, over which on both sides is a half moon at the top left of 3 panels. One side has a cold, silvery moon, with the forest, dark and menacing in deep blue and red lines with a silvery luminescence.
